Spring 2025 CCNY STEM Institute Semester

Fall 2024 CCNY STEM Institute Semester
During the Fall 2024 semester, I ran three classes: one for middle school students, one for high school students, and one for high school students who were ESL. All of the classes did amazing work, and I’m very proud to have had the chance to teach them.
I was especially happy to have taught the ESL class as I was an ESL student and didn’t get to have opportunities due to my lack of English. It’s important to allow students to reach beyond the basic classes, regardless of their language barriers, and work with them to give them skills any other student should have access to.
You can check out the middle school games here, the high school games here, and the ESL high school games here.
Summer 2024 CCNY STEM Institute Semester
In the summer of 2024, I had my largest class to date, with over fifty students and ten TAs. In addition to the usual game development class, the students worked on creating a research study based around the DOT, which they then presented for the NYC Science Research Mentoring Consortium at the Museum of Natural History. It was a wonderful summer filled with great games and projects. You can check out the student game projects here.
The Coding Space
For a brief time, I worked with The Coding Space as a teacher, helping elementary school students learn the basics of coding using Code.org, and create their first games in Scratch, a block-based game engine, and WoolfJS, an introductory JavaScript game engine.

WHEELS November 2023
In November 2023, I had the pleasure of running a three-week workshop where I taught high school students how to develop a 2D platformer. This workshop later became the foundation for a semester-long 2D platformer game development course that I implemented as part of the core curriculum. You can check out the student projects here.
Bitsy Game Jam
In January 2023, I returned to Townsend Harris High School to give a presentation on Bitsy, a web-based narrative game engine. I set up a game jam for the students to practice their newfound skills. In the end, I received two amazing entries that showcase the creativity of young minds when challenged by limited resources of such game engine. You can check out the student games here.
Guest Speaking

Summer 2022 CCNY STEM Institute Semester
In the summer of 2022, I had the great opportunity to teach my first Game Development class at the STEM Institute at CCNY. Throughout the semester, I taught Unity and C# to a class of twenty wonderful high school students.
